| Many
greetings to all of you from
Paco,
Keep an eye peeled for the upcoming launch of our redesigned content site and e-store
coming September 2010. We have just finished designing and opening our new global
events calendar that will not only be publishing info provided
by our staff, but now will now "allow site visitors with Arts &
Music events to publicize" place them on our calendar. We'll be adding links
to all of our social network friends and next year, as needed,
we will also become a twittering site to keep you aware of events coming up. Pacosvillage will have a music
and video download store in it, order high-end Gourmet food items
from an online European-style deli counter, and many other unique
"one-of" kind of treats that you'd expect out of
the Pacosvillage artisanal communities.
My Personal Editorial Comment:
______________________________________________________________
Now that we are coming back on-line to publish
exciting content from various forms of the Arts communities
around the world we are reaching out for
story contributors, artists, talent management folks, etc.
to get in touch with us with submissions of your works to
publish on our site. We don't have the means to pay for content
so we are asking for your support, and we'll tag your content
with a "Contributed By" a link to your own site,
and all the proper taglines to show it as yours.
You'll notice we even opened up a facebook( pacosglobalvillage ) page
to reach out. We need content on performance arts, healing
arts, visual arts, poetry, public publishing of your manuscripts,
and any other contributions that would be of interest to our
global community of readers.
but back to the sane world at large( not America)
.............my vacation over in Thailand.
Bangkok is still vibrant and beautiful for the eyes,
the palate, and the libido, but newest location on my radar
is Phuket! This little peninsula (12 hour drive from Bangkok
or 1 hour flight) is a dream island paradise. Sights, people,
food, nightlife, nightlife, nightlife. As many of you, my
long-term readers, know my number #1 best place in the world
has always been Amsterdam, well I now have found my "Amsterdam
of Asia". So now there is a tie for the best place in
my world. Great snorkeling at Phi Phi island's spectacular
coral reef, fish caught in morning and cleaned, grilled and
eaten right on Patong beach as it comes off the boat, mmmmm.
Ocean water warm like bathwater. How good can it get! Next
trip is to Chang Mai. A big hello to Noi, Poy, Joy and Toy.
Sawaadee Caap!
We have been very active searching
out wonderful stories from the many Arts & Music world
folks we are meeting during our most recent travels. See
below for a short description of one of those great
group of artists. You’re in for a real treat when you
go into the November, 2009 issue of Paco’s
Global Village-it's our fresh new look to move us
through rest of 2010.
We're slowly but completely mending all the broken links
and broken content sections that resulted from the Hackers last summe doing their damage on us.
I've had so many visitors to the site email me stories of
how they read an article of an upcoming event in our calendar, in a country
they coincidently were travelling to, and how they went to
the event met lots of local folks and it added to the adventure
of the new place they were in. Something to look forward to
when our newly redesigned Calendar comes online.
We’re still that same World
Beat original content environment,
and yes, we still are searching for freelance writing contributors
to input their articles on the Visual & Performance Arts
and Music to us for publishing. Please follow the
rules though, we'll need you to ensure that you have the proper
rights to publish your articles and photos, or we cannot publish
them....

- A Class Apart- On another one
of my wonderful trips to India I met this fine group of
musicians and sampled their sounds- and boy are these guys
hot. Not to mention they are practiced and serious artitsts-
look out Putomayo Records or Groove Gravy Records,
you might be missing a hot property here to add to your
fine array of World Music talents- we'll talk!!!
A Class Apart had just finished a superb 4-day
gig at "the leather bar" at the Park Resort in
Chennai, India. They're based in Calcutta, India and are
trying to break out big, with an expected multi-city tour
in the US later this year. Hopefully I can convince one
of my club-owner friends to sign them for a night in Los
Angeles, that city needs a little class (and I'm being very
kind assuming theres any now). Described by the Park "For
the lovers of fusion lounge music, it can't get any groovier
than this."...
- What makes them A Class Apart-

and the voice of the band. He is a leading Hindustani
classical exponent from the Bishnupur Gharana.
- Shaukut Ali (Chuku)- Chuku is one of the leading guitarists
in the East and profoundly influenced by Jazz and Fusion.
- Chiradeep Lahiri (Chiro)- Chiro is unquestionably
the East's most sought after sessions drummer.
- Mainak Nag Choudhury (Bumpy)- Bumpy is an avid experimental
bassist, who takes his instrument beyond its conventional
use with his unique style and flair.
- Partho Banerjee- Creates magical music from his tablas,
jimbles, thumbas, mouth percussion, and even strange
unique musical objects. A livewire musician.
